The Position
A reputable and growing organisation in the inner northern suburbs of Brisbane are seeking the talents of an experienced and driven Senior Payroll Officer to commence in a permanent full-time role within their thriving payroll team.
This role provides you the opportunity to work in a collaborative team to perform a payroll service for a workforce exceeding 0. Working in a high-performing team within payroll, you will be supported and guided to ensure you are a successful member of the organisation. This organisation is located in the inner northern of Brisbane with parking options available and a flexible hybrid working model allowing two days work from home a week.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for performing a full function payroll service for a workforce exceeding 0. Your key responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:
1. End-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of 0+;
2. Processing of adjustments and deductions including terminations, back-payments, WorkCover, tax, etc.;
3. Reconciliations;
4. Month-end and year-end reporting;
5. Attending to and resolving any employee payroll queries in an efficient, positive and timely manner;
6. Administration of new employee records and updating of existing employee files;
7. Ad hoc support and guidance on complex matters.
Skills & Experience
As the suitable candidate for this position, you will hold prior relevant and recent experience in payroll with a passion to advance your skills in a senior payroll position. Prior experience as a Senior Payroll Officer is not required, and this role would suit a Payroll Officer ready to step up or a Senior Payroll Officer. In addition, you will also:
8. High attention to detail while working in a high-volume payroll environment;
9. Adaptive communication style to ensure an open, professional and friendly manner to all levels within the organisation;
10. Positive and friendly work ethic;
11. Strong team-player;
12. High computer literacy in all Microsoft office applications (particularly Excel) and experience using a large ERP payroll system.
