Reporting to the Regulatory Planning Team Lead, the Senior Regulatory Planner will provide specialist advice and guidance on statutory approval requirements to support SA Water’s Capital Program. This role will collaborate closely with portfolio, program, and project managers, as well as experts across asset planning, land use, development, environment, cultural heritage, and other critical areas. You will contribute to ensuring that statutory approval requirements are identified and integrated into the asset planning and capital delivery lifecycle, playing a vital role in facilitating compliance.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring regulatory approvals are planned for and obtained on time, supporting the delivery of projects within SA Water’s Capital Program.
* Providing expert guidance to project teams on statutory matters, ensuring integration and compliance with regulatory requirements through the asset planning and capital delivery lifecycle.
* Facilitating cross-functional consultation to mitigate risks related to regulatory requirements and approvals.
* Enhancing and implementing business processes related to regulatory requirements and capital delivery to improve efficiency.
* Developing and delivering training and resources for regulatory matters, ensuring up-to-date understanding of relevant legislation.
* Assisting in the integration of technology systems and business processes supporting regulatory adherence, in line with the wider capital delivery goals.
Your success in this role will come from:
* A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Extensive experience in a senior role, operating within a complex regulatory environment.
* Excellent collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
* A deep understanding of statutory requirements relevant to the government and infrastructure sectors, particularly in the contexts of South Australia and the Commonwealth.
* Demonstrated capability in navigating complex regulatory approval frameworks and delivering outcomes that align with regulatory objectives.
