The Opportunity : We are currently seeking a Field Service Supervisor based in our Mackay branch, who will manage the day-to-day operational activities of Field Service, including team management, safety, WIP management, productivity, work quality, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction to meet the expectations of our customers.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the customer relationship with Komatsu Mackay Field Service by providing regular updates on machine repair progress through photographic reports for larger jobs and verbal updates for smaller jobs.
Develop a culture of training and development for the team by providing a minimum of 5 days of training per technician for WIP employees.
Ensure WIP is managed effectively by promoting a clear work scope before commencing repairs and ensuring the responsible person completes a detailed service report for job closure.
Provide a proactive approach to reduce rework by promoting best practices for quality in performing repairs and investigating corrective actions for any rework that occurs.
Promote the Komatsu Customer Support Charter as the standard for business operations by collaborating with the Service Manager to implement best practices for customer service and communicate these with the team.
Apply a disciplined approach to expense control by identifying areas to reduce unnecessary spending and reviewing all expense accounts monthly.
Review Field Service travel regularly to ensure effective vehicle recovery.
Manage utilization to the target of 75% by ensuring appropriate rosters and shifts are in place, controlling overtime, and ensuring all lost time is justified and approved by the Service Manager.

What we are looking for: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively communicate with customers and personnel at all levels.
Appropriate demeanor for supervising and assisting in creating a positive "team atmosphere." Proven ability to implement OH&S practices in the workplace.
Good technical experience with the Komatsu product range.
Good understanding of Komatsu systems and processes.
Leadership skills and experience.
Good understanding of how a field service department operates.
Must understand the warranty guidelines and processes.
Proven experience leading workgroups.
Trade background.
Customer service-oriented.
Financial understanding of P&L.
Drive for Continuous Improvement and 5 S.
Previous experience with Komatsu or another OEM.
