About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Estimator with at least 8 years of estimating experience in the construction industry.
You will play a key role in preparing accurate tenders and cost plan budgets for a variety of building projects.
This fast-paced and autonomous role will keep you on your toes, as you complete the takeoff and costing process, provide valuable input during tender close processes, validate risk profiles and have input in margin decisions.
You'll also visit construction sites and briefings to assess contract risks and collect vital information to support sound business decisions.
As part of the team, you'll collaborate with key pre construction, construction and commercial stakeholders and take ownership of various estimating duties to ensure tender success.
Key Responsibilities: Ability to complete own takeoffs and/or coordinate external QS BOQ's, based on project scope and size.Review take-off's & BOQ's for accuracy and compliance.Analyse tender documentation, coordinate and source subcontractor and supplier quotes.Complete cost evaluations, and pricing analysis of quotes.Consider and cost preliminary requirements for project delivery.Develop project budgets, cost models, and bid proposals, suggesting and assessing cost-saving/VE options.Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to align on scope and costs.Monitor market conditions and integrate insights into cost forecasting.Complete peer reviews of tender estimates.Mentor junior estimators and improve estimating tools and processes.About You: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or Construction (or equivalent).A minimum of 8 years in estimating within the construction sector.Strong scope/cost acumen and proficiency in MS Excel/Word/PDF.Familiarity with estimating software (BuildSoft, or Cubit preferred).Strong understanding of construction methodologies and processes.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.Benefits and perks: Access to our EAP (Employee Assistance Program).Excellent Leave Policies that include purchased Annual Leave, Work Life Balance Days, Community Days and generous Parental Leave scheme.Collaborative and values-based workplace culture.Sporting and Social events.Professional Memberships.Discounts on Travel, Retail and Health. *Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islanders and Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply*
