About the Role
This permanent part time role is an exciting clinical opportunity at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), with the scope to contribute to the develop of a new clinical Perinatal Emotional Health Service (PEHS) as part of the suite of Mental Health & Wellbeing Programs at SVHM.
The PEHS Psychologist will provide a range of high quality specialist psychological interventions to parents in the perinatal period presenting with moderate to severe mental health conditions, including psychological assessment, specialist therapeutic interventions, and secondary consultation.
The psychologist will also supervise Grade 2 psychologists, and psychology registrars.
Under the guidance of the Manager and Perinatal Psychiatrist, the Senior Clinical Psychologist is also responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership to junior staff, students and peers within a multidisciplinary, integrated team framework providing a recovery-focused Strengths Model of Perinatal Mental Health care.
* In collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrist PEHS develop a best practice based model of care to meet the program objectives.
* Deliver timely, comprehensive, evidence-informed specialist therapeutic interventions and treatment program, including CBT, ACT and other evidence-based therapies for parents who experience moderate to severe mental health conditions.
* Contribute to the PEHS achieving the key performance indicators for perinatal emotional health services as set by the Department of Health.
Classifications for this position will range from Psychologist Grade 3 PL1 - PL4 ($106,158 - $121,477 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership in a multi-disciplinary mental health and wellbeing service.
* Experience in providing expert psychological clinical care in perinatal emotional health or related area.
* Experience in delivering clinical care within a recovery-oriented model or framework and demonstrated advocacy for consumer-centred healthcare.
* Completion of an APAC approved degree in Clinical Psychology at a Master’s or Doctorate level
* Current National Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

About the Mental Health & Wellbeing Program
St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) Mental Health & Wellbeing Program includes an adult area mental health and wellbeing service for the inner-city areas of Yarra and Boroondara.
We are establishing a small multidisciplinary Perinatal Emotional Health Service (PEHS). The PEHS aims to improve early intervention and treatment of antenatal and postnatal depression and other mental health illnesses for expectant and new mothers and parents, or those who experience a miscarriage or stillbirth.
This service will be delivered in community-based settings in a hybrid clinical and partnership co-location model with the key identified partners in our Community.
