The program oversees a diverse group of services promoting effective seamless care, from acute care back into the community. These services are provided in people's homes, community centres and in hospital when indicated.The 15 bed Sub Acute Geriatric Evaluation and Management ward is a new purpose built unit based at The Alfred and planned to open in February 2025. The unit will specialise in caring for older patients who need GEM level of care and that benefit from being collocated with acute services at The Alfred site. The unit will be a fast paced, dynamic environment with a diverse and complex patient group. Our passionate and highly skilled multi-disciplinary team will work together to achieve excellence in quality patient care.About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Manager to lead the establishment of a new unit in partnership with the interdisciplinary Ward Leadership Team. The role will oversee Nursing recruitment, establishment of an interdisciplinary vision for the service and the implementation of a comprehensive orientation and team building plan.To deliver this service, the Nurse Manager is responsible for operational performance targets, budget and risk management for the unit.
