About the Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for a commercially savvy and technically minded Senior Product Manager to join a global manufacturer and lead a diverse portfolio of industrial products used across sectors such as agriculture, water infrastructure, construction, and architectural applications. You’ll step into a senior role with full ownership of a large-scale category, produced both locally and offshore. The portfolio includes thousands of SKUs and requires a strategic, analytical mind with an eye for commercial performance, product optimisation, and cross-functional leadership. This business is undergoing a significant shift — with a new innovation agenda at the executive level, a restructured marketing team, and untapped growth opportunities in sectors like agribusiness and commercial infrastructure. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact, quickly.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Portfolio Strategy & Leadership:
Own the end-to-end commercial strategy for the category. Develop and execute strategic plans that grow revenue, improve margin, and align with evolving customer needs.
* Product Lifecycle Management:
Lead the management and rationalisation of a large, complex product suite. Identify slow-moving SKUs, recommend optimisations, and develop business cases for range changes.
* New Product Development & Innovation:
Collaborate closely with a dedicated NPD team (technical and commercial specialists) to develop new products and evolve existing lines. Feed local market insights into the global innovation pipeline, working alongside a new Head of Innovation on the ELT.
* Project & Stakeholder Leadership:
Coordinate cross-functional teams including sourcing, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and external suppliers to deliver projects on time, within spec, and on budget.
* Customer & Market Engagement:
Understand the needs of distributors, fabricators, and end users across Australia and international markets. Build relationships with key accounts and partner associations.
* Sales Enablement:
Develop case studies, sales tools, and go-to-market materials that help the sales team articulate value, close opportunities, and expand existing accounts.
You’ll Need To Have
* Proven experience in product or category management in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical product environment
* Strong understanding of product lifecycle management — including stage-gate development, commercialisation, and post-launch performance
* Demonstrated ability to analyse portfolio performance, manage long-tail SKUs, and drive rationalisation for margin and cost benefit
* Experience working across cross-functional teams, ideally including manufacturing, R&D, commercial sales, sourcing and supply chain
* High level of commercial acumen — you're confident with numbers, strategy, margin, and operational viability
* Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills — you're organised, proactive, and clear in communication
* An ability to thrive in a business that blends corporate structure with a hands-on, entrepreneurial culture
* Degree qualifications in business, marketing, product, or a related field
What’s on Offer
* A genuinely high-impact, high-autonomy product leadership role
* The chance to lead a $50M portfolio in a globally connected, technically advanced manufacturing business
* A new leadership team focused on innovation, growth, and cross-regional collaboration
* Hybrid flexibility – work from home on Mondays and Fridays; south east office location
* A hands-on, supportive culture where ideas are actioned quickly and your input is genuinely valued
* Strong investment in product, marketing, and innovation functions — with the resources to deliver
* An opportunity to shape not just a category, but how the business brings industrial products to market
