You get to make an impact working as 2IC to the Senior Mine Geologist, integral in contributing to Resource replacement and growth for Paulsens.We value “the team helps each other out”, so this position requires someone prepared to be both hands-on and strategic, to meet safety, production, and cost targets. Being able to thrive and be comfortable working in hot conditions is a must!The position is FIFO from Perth, Darwin, or Broome to site or DIDO from Onslow, Exmouth, Karratha, or Dampier. Paulsens is located in the Ashburton Basin of the Eastern Pilbara region, 211kms inland east of Onslow and 180km west of Paraburdoo. Flights are to Onslow or Paraburdoo, then a two-hour transport to site. The roster is 8/6, day shift.About the OpportunityThe aim of the Geology Team is to deliver maximum ore grade to the Processing Plant where the team gets to work with some of the highest-grade ore in Australia.The Project Mine Geologist is responsible for the planning, execution and supervision of advanced drilling programs through:Increase ounce addition through identification and evaluation of ‘in mine’ targets.Plan infill and extensional resource definition drilling programs.Ensure adequate supervision of the drilling contractors.Ensure accurate geological core logging of grade control and resource definition drillholes.At times you may be involved in something new and different, providing you with opportunities to learn and grow, be a team player and support site priorities.About YouIf you are an enthusiastic person who thinks outside the box this opportunity is for you! With experience in underground gold operations, particularly with narrow vein mining, you will need the following:Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent.Ability to mentor junior mine geologists and manage a small team.Experience with mining software that includes 3D modelling as required for day to day, near term mine planning and geology software packages such as Deswik, Datamine, Leapfrog and Acquire.Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) sampling and mapping practices.Experience working for a similarly sized company and/or an understanding of limitations and constraints and a requirement to be hands-on, that provides challenges and opportunities, whilst growing a junior company is desirable.If you would like to know more about the above opportunity, please email (emailprotected).Being part of the inaugural team means you will be exposed to many aspects of the Company.
