The company A well regarded business in the finance sector. They have grown rapidly over the last 5 years, and continue to grow. They are based in the heart of Macquarie Park and are close to the metro station. Great offices, but they also offer plenty of scope to WFH (the role would start out a 3:2 hybrid, but over time would become more a 2:3). The role The company is doing a major uplift around their infrastructure & cybersecurity. They are running on an Azure/365 backbone, but are looking to mature & harden the environment. On the back of that they are growing the Azure & Cyber teams. The cyber engineer role will play a key role in the cybersec uplift. Helping to implement, optimise & administer Microsoft Defender (XDR, EUC & cloud), working closely with the rest of their IT team (Developers, DevOps, Cloud Engineering & Helpdesk) to improve CyberSec standards, interfacing with the business, handling cybersecurity assessments regarding new applications, vulnerability & threat assessments, working with the SOC, automation of processes, analysing threats & incidents, and training of both technical & non-technical people. As such, strong Defender skills are essential, spanning XDR, EUC & cloud. we'd also want to see a solid career history around Cybersec (especially the Essential 8 and NIST). Certs around Azure & cybersec would be well regarded.
