Your impact
The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Water & Dams) is responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the dams and water market in the ANZ region, and specifically supporting our major dams engineering frameworks.
• Deliver technically excellent mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services. Carry out independently design/review/assurance on Projects.
• Drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identify the next opportunities and support the win of the opportunities
• Bid preparation and submittals as required, support section leader, project managers in the delivery of financially successful projects.
• Develop and maintain strong key client relationships – act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sector.
• Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process.
• Mentor and facilitate the technical development of more junior resources to meet market requirements.
• Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.
• Promote safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.
You will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team, section and PU. Attend client meetings where possible to gain an understanding of the relationships that we aspire to maintain. Lead the team at meetings. Ensure tasks undertaken are understood completely before stating. Touch base with Team/Section Lead periodically to ensure that you are on the right track. Monitor time taken as well as forward workload to ensure that Lead is aware of any upcoming capability. Meet and balance scope of deliverables with time allocation. You will support your PU to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships in order to maximise the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.
Here's what you'll need
Degree in Engineering
Author technical reports that detail the type, methodologies, results of field activities, interpretation of results and impact assessment
Coaching and mentoring
Able to directly liaise with clients in a confident manner and lead meetings with clients.
Build relationships with clients, contribute to business development and support the pursuit of new opportunities with existing and new clients
Effectively collaborate with the wider water resource practice to share technical skills, resources or work packages
Attain/maintain proficiency in the use of standard tools, techniques and equipment that are required for the undertaking, completion and delivery of your work
Ensure sufficient knowledge of the legislation and policies that are relevant to our work
Be able to communicate results and analysis with internal and external clients.
Build relationships with team throughout the Jacobs business.
