About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer with extensive experience in mining projects to lead the design, development, integration, and commissioning of control and automation systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale projects that leverage advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end delivery of control system projects, from concept to commissioning. Develop and program PLC, SCADA, and DCS solutions for mining applications (Siemens, Rockwell) Citect SCADA. Integrate third-party systems and subsystems into centralised control platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design engineers, and clients, to ensure seamless project execution. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and optimisation to meet client requirements and performance standards. Provide technical expertise during risk assessments, HAZOPs, and design reviews. Mentor and support junior engineers in technical and professional development. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and regulations in the mining sector. About You: Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronics, or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent). Extensive experience in designing, programming, and commissioning PLC/SCADA/DCS systems in mining or heavy industry. Proficiency with platforms such as Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Schneider Electric, Siemens systems. Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects on time and within budget. Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance, including SIL-rated systems and functional safety standards. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a proactive and innovative approach.
