Position Overview
We are on the hunt for an excellent Management Accountant, for a maternity cover, with the potentially to move to permanent for the right candidate. As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily bookkeeping operations and managing a team of bookkeepers.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
* Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy.
* Implement and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
* Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
* Identify and resolve discrepancies and issues in financial records.
* Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in a similar role
* CA or CPA (desirable but not essential)
* Experience managing a team of bookkeepers
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero)
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
