In this role, you'll be: Advising the business units on relevant areas of law including financial services, Corporations Act, privacy and AML/CTF.Advising and assisting with corporate governance and company secretarial matters.Assisting with preparing and reviewing responses to regulatory notices, court proceedings and other government and regulatory processes.Preparing and presenting legal specific education and training sessions for staff across the business.Conducting research into, and advising on, new areas of law that may be applicable to the business and its initiatives and implementing regulatory change initiatives.Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various agreements including confidentiality agreements, terms and conditions, license agreements, agreements with technology and data service providers, banking arrangements and outsourcing agreements.Reviewing marketing materials and advising on IP issues.Creating and maintaining legal precedents, policies and templates.Assisting with projects and product launches, including the preparation of client facing documentation.Collaborating closely across Monoova's business units (including Growth, Client Success, Risk, On-boarding and Product teams).Advising and assisting with employment law matters.Assisting with dispute resolution matters.Working in a small high-performing and supportive legal team.What we need from you: Excellent client facing skills and strong commercial acumen.Strong technical and drafting skills.A desire to build an in-house legal career across a variety of challenging legal areas.Experience in working as part of a team, with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.Excellent attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills with the ability to provide practical advice relating to complex regulatory matters.Ability to work both collaboratively and individually.Your experience and knowledge: Admitted legal practitioner with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in a highly regarded law firm or high performing in-house team.Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and analysis techniques to complex and ambiguous problems.Strong stakeholder engagement, teamwork, and project management capabilities.You will have a strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas; financial services laws (Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act), disclosure documents (eg Product Disclosure Documents and Prospectuses), Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing laws (AML/CTF Act and Rules), Consumer law (eg unfair contact terms), technology and digital contracts and Privacy laws.Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies, such as ASIC and AUSTRAC will also be highly regarded.Excellent negotiation, drafting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.The ability to build strong relationships and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders.Experience within fintech, high growth tech or high-volume financial services businesses is highly regarded.Monoova Culture and Benefits: Hybrid working arrangement (3:2) so you can enjoy more flexibility.Short-term incentive program to thank our employees for all their hard work and dedication.16 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers, so you get extra time with your newborn and to recover.Employee Assistance Program because your wellbeing is key.Celebrate your birthday with a day off and a gift.Work anywhere in the world for 1 month.Culture valuing career progression and development.After hours travel and meal allowance.Monthly team engagement events to promote a fun, dynamic and supportive team culture.Seniority levelMid-Senior level
