Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a key role in the ongoing growth and success of the Ballarat and District Aboriginal Cooperative.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage financial functions for the Ballarat & District Aboriginal Cooperative including all budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Develop and mentor the finance team to ensure a high level of performance and standard of professional practice.
* Support financial corporate governance by ensuring robust financial policy, procedure, and practice(s).
* Provide strategic guidance and reporting to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
* Oversee cash flow, investments, and financial risk management to safeguard the company's assets.
Requirements
* Qualification in Commerce and Accounting, and CA or CPA.
* Significant relevant experience in a similar NFP role, demonstrating excellent commercial acumen.
* Excellent analytical skills, sound problem solving, creative & independent thinking and the ability guide the long-term success of the organisation.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills that include the ability to inspire and motivate others within team.
* Demonstrated ability to balance current financial operational requirements, long-term strategic business goals, and needs of the local Aboriginal community.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within the Aboriginal community including demonstrated knowledge & understanding of Aboriginal culture and sound knowledge of the challenges and issues facing the local Aboriginal community.
