We are on the lookout for a strategic and dynamic Plant Manager to lead the operations of a prominent drywall joint tape manufacturing facility in the Junction City, Kansas area. The role is pivotal in fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and employee engagement in alignment with our client's Vision, Mission Statement, and Values. Responsibilities:
* Instill a safety-first culture with the goal of achieving an incident-free environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
* Ensure adherence to the company's waste, energy, and sustainability targets.
* Oversee quality systems to guarantee all products meet strict specification criteria.
* Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Customer Service teams to ensure preferred service levels are met.
* Demonstrate a solid understanding of product formulation, machine batch sequencing, and product application in line with industry standards.
* Ensure the maintenance of equipment meets benchmark targets and environmental regulations.
* Manage resources efficiently to adhere to cost budgets.
* Maintain full compliance with internal financial control standards, plant business plans, and continuity strategies.
Reporting Structure:
* This role reports directly to the Finishing Operations Manager and is responsible for managing a significant fiscal budget.
Travel and Supervisory Responsibilities:
* The position involves up to 5% travel and includes direct leadership of up to 4 staff members and indirect oversight of up to 15 personnel.
Qualifications:
* A BA or BS degree in engineering, business, or a related field is preferred, supplemented by extensive technical training and a comprehensive understanding of plant leadership.
* At least 8-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in progressive plant leadership roles.
* Proven track record in team leadership and development.
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SAP database management, ladder logic, HMI, and ERP systems.
* Experience in warehouse and inventory management, including international shipping standards.
