Our client is a leading provider of fresh produce, meat, and small goods to both the retail and resource sectors across Australia, with an export division servicing Papua New Guinea. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic 2IC Export Manager help oversee the supply of food and non-food items to PNG mines and hospitality businesses. If you thrive in logistics, leadership, and international trade, this is the role for you. The Ideal Candidate: You’re a hands-on leader with a proven track record in export and logistics. You have strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and experience working with international markets, especially PNG. You can manage a team of up to 8 staff and are confident in coordinating complex logistics, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery of goods. Key Responsibilities: Support the Export Manager in overseeing all export operations, including customer quotes, stock sourcing, and delivery logistics. Book appropriate freight and manage container and air freight logistics. Handle export documentation (EXDOC/NEXDOC) through the EDISOFT system. Liaise with the PNG office on customs clearance requirements. Invoice customers and approve expense invoices. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and local laws. Manage the logistics of shipping, distribution, and inventory, addressing any logistical challenges. Lead and manage a team, ensuring effective communication and productivity. Skills and Experience Required: Experience in export, international sales, or account management. Strong understanding of logistics, container movements, and air freight. Expertise in international trade regulations and compliance, particularly in PNG. Proven ability to manage staff and coordinate with suppliers. Excellent communication skills across multiple platforms and channels. Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
