Your new role
Routing and Switching (70%)
* Configuration and Management: Configure and manage Cisco software (IOS-XR and IOS-XE) and hardware (NCS55xx, ASR1xxx, ASR99xx).
* Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
* Routing Protocols: Implement and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and MPLS to ensure efficient data flow.
* Network Upgrades: Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to support business growth and new technologies.
* Documentation: Maintain detailed network documentation and diagrams to support operational and design activities.
Security Firewall Experience (30%)
* Fortinet Solutions: Deploy and manage Fortinet firewall solutions to protect the network from threats.
* Cisco Firewalls: Utilize Cisco firewall technologies to enhance network security.
* Checkpoint Firewalls: Implement and manage Checkpoint firewall solutions as part of the security infrastructure.
* Incident Response: Respond to and mitigate security incidents, ensuring minimal impact on network performance.
* Security Policies: Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard network infrastructure.
Collaboration and Design
* Low-Level Designs (LLD): Collaborate with Network Architects to produce Low-Level Designs, ensuring alignment with overall network architecture.
* Project Support: Support the separation and migration project, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to services.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement network solutions and resolve issues.
Daily Operations
* Network Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, hardware replacements, and configuration changes.
* Performance Optimization: Analyze network performance data to identify and address bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
* User Support: Provide technical support to internal teams and customers, resolving network-related issues promptly.
* After-Hours Work: Be available for after-hours work as required (25% of the contract period) to support critical network operations and projects
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum of 3 years of operations experience.
* At least 2 years of design experience, producing LLDs and working under Network or Principal Architects.
* Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies.
* Proven experience with security firewall solutions, particularly Fortinet, Cisco, and Checkpoint.
* Essential experience with Cisco Routing and Switching
* Essential experience with protocols BGP, OSPF, MPLS
* Flexibility to handle after-hours work when necessary.
