Our leafy campus provides a learning environment where students are both challenged and supported in studying subjects from a very broad and diverse selection.
As a member of the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy, we are able to offer students special opportunities to explore careers in the resources sector. Through partnerships with other learning providers students are able to commence Diploma courses and complete Certificate courses whilst at school. We also offer school-based traineeships and apprenticeships. Apart from the academic program, the excellent sporting and cultural programs add to the richness of the educational experience for our students.
About the Role
Head of Department - Senior Schooling will be responsible, but not limited to:
* Tracking and monitoring student achievement and progress data including QCE attainment, ATAR & VET completion.
* Leading a range of faculty teams in a large school, to deliver quality outcomes for a diverse range of students across years 10-12.
* Leading and quality assuring a diverse suite of senior subjects including VET and complimentary pathways subjects.
* Working collaboratively with the college leadership team on the continued review and refinement of senior pathways at AHSHS.
* Forming partnerships with other external agencies, community, industry and business to facilitate VET and employment opportunities for students at AHSHS.
