Position: IT Infrastructure Officer Location: Hervey Bay Employment Type: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week until June 2025 with possibility of extension Payrate: $55-$65/hr + super Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as an IT Infrastructure Officer for one of our government clients.
The IT Infrastructure Officer is responsible for ensuring the ongoing availability, security, and maintenance of client's IT infrastructure, including workstations, laptops, servers, network, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and corporate IT systems.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure the availability, security, and performance of Council's IT systems, including servers, workstations, networks, and cloud infrastructure.
Oversee the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal of physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers.
Administer CCTV network assets, ensuring compliance with Council policies and security standards.
Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures, conduct awareness training, and manage disaster recovery planning.
Maintain corporate applications infrastructure and databases, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Develop business cases, coordinate resources, and oversee IT infrastructure projects to completion.
Engage vendors for service issue resolution, manage procurement processes, and optimize software licensing.
Research and implement emerging technologies, aligning infrastructure improvements with Council's strategic goals.
Provide IT support, maintain infrastructure documentation, and inform users of system changes or disruptions.
Ensure adherence to Work Health and Safety policies, risk management protocols, and records management legislation.
What We're Looking For: Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years in IT infrastructure management.
Technical Proficiency – Expertise in servers, networks, cybersecurity, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
Experience in IT project coordination, procurement, and vendor relationship management.
Strong analytical skills, ability to resolve technical issues, and excellent stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge of IT policies, security best practices, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Additional Requirements: A current C-class driver's license.
