Hames Sharley is seeking a skilled and ambitious Senior Architect to join its Darwin studio as the next 2IC. This role provides a unique opportunity to work across multiple sectors and advance within one of Australia’s largest interdisciplinary practices. The position is suited to a candidate looking to accelerate their career and develop towards a future studio leadership role.
Responsibilities
1. Leading projects from concept through to completion while building a strong presence in the industry.
2. Collaborating within a design-focused team to ensure excellence in project delivery.
3. Mentoring a diverse and inclusive team under the guidance of the Studio Leader.
4. Building client relationships, developing business strategies, and creating project-specific conceptual narratives.
5. Contributing to projects in sectors such as health, defence, retail, and culture, including opportunities for remote community engagement.
6. Managing procurement, construction, and building services with a strong design focus.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong passion for creativity, leadership, and innovation, with a drive to push boundaries and deliver impactful designs. They will possess excellent verbal, graphic, and presentation skills, alongside proficiency in Revit, Enscape, and other relevant software, ensuring precise detailing and documentation throughout the design process. A solid understanding of procurement, construction, and building services will be highly advantageous, as will a deep commitment to team development and collaboration.
