About BAROC:
Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) is located within the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) and operated by Austin Health. About the role:
This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic team environment and provide high-quality administration support to a growing service and region.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Reception duties including following accepted patient identification processes, waiting room flow management, telephone call attendance and triage.
* Patient liaison for coordinating support services including transport, accommodation and interpreter as required.
* Incoming and outgoing patient correspondence management (letters and appointment details).
* Filing of results/reports into the EMR and the maintenance of filing/record systems within Radiation Oncology.
* Referral management- Assisting with referral triage, updating patient records with details of referring doctors and medical tests (e.g. imaging, pathology etc.).
* Supporting billing process by ensuring compliance with Medicare requirements (i.e. Medicare assignment forms are complete for eligible patient, compliance with Medicare coding/rules).
* Contribute to a team environment, which promotes a positive culture, opportunity for learning and development, safety and welfare of employees and patients.
* Liaise with clinical staff both inside and outside of BRICC/BAROC to provide optimum service delivery.
