We are looking to employ a solicitor with 0-3 yearsPAE to be part of our small but busy criminal law firm.This is a unique opportunity 2 hours from Sydney and 1 hour from Canberra for a candidate seeking invaluable advocacy experience to further your career.
The successful applicant would:
* Have a passion for criminal law;
* Be confidant to immediately appear in Local Court proceedings;
* Like working in a team environment;
* Possess a high level of resilience and emotional intelligence;
* Have strongattention to detail and superb written and verbal communication skills;
* Be highly motivated and sensitiveto the needs of our often disadvantaged client base.
Your Role
* Management of your own client files and responsible for matters in the Local Court from start to finish;
* Appearance in the Local Court for bail applications, sentences and defended hearings;
* Appearance in the District and Supreme Court for mentions;
* Instructing Counsel in trials and sentences in the District and Supeme Court;
* Appearance in tribunals such as the Mental Health Review Tribunal and NCAT.
