Based in Canberra, your role will perform Network Engineering functions including conceptualisation, design, implementation and optimisation in a SME capacity. NEC provides support for the Wintel, Virtualization, Unix, Storage and Data Protection support which are teams you will be sitting with and working around.Your Qualifications and Experience:Experience in a Network Communications Engineer role or similarSpecialist skills in configuration and maintenance of networking infrastructure and working knowledge of networking technologiesDemonstrated experience configuring and managing switches, firewalls, and other networking infrastructure.Ability to troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues and work with other team members to identify and resolve related infrastructure issues.Demonstrated experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.Strong knowledge and experience across a range of technologies including, Citrix load balancers, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.Provide support and mentoring to more junior members.Able to work with Problem Management to reactive and preventative root cause analysis and investigations, often with vendors and other teams.A minimum of NV1 clearance is required for this role with the ability to obtain NV2.At NEC, we offer an outstanding working environment, fantastic corporate culture and an excellent track record of internal promotions along with continuous learning and development opportunities.
