Head of Drama & Theatre Studies (Senior School)Haileybury seeks an inspiring, innovative, and dedicated Head of Drama & Theatre Studies (Senior School) to lead our exceptional Drama and Theatre program, fostering a rich and stimulating environment where students thrive both academically and through performances.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum and Policy Development: Preparing and updating curriculum frameworks, assessment documentation, policy statements, booklists, scopes and sequences, and subject descriptors to guide detailed curriculum creation and departmental responsibilities.Staff and Student Allocation and Support: Assisting and advising teachers on classroom management, pedagogy, schedules, and assessments while allocating students and staff to classes in consultation with relevant department heads.Assessment Oversight and Examination Supervision: Overseeing assessment quality, benchmarking, report structures, and exam administration, including paper preparation, entering results, and determining awards and subject suitability for students.Professional Representation and Safety: Representing Drama and Theatre Studies at professional meetings (e.g., Drama Victoria, VCAA) and promoting best practices in Occupational Health and Safety.Resource and Facility Management: Overseeing Drama teaching rooms, equipment, and resources, recommending new purchases, and collaborating with the Library to enhance resource availability.Production Leadership and Cultural Advocacy: Leading Senior School productions by directing and producing shows, promoting cohesion and professionalism, and advocating for Drama, Theatre Studies, and Dance.About You:We are looking for applications from brilliant Haileybury teachers who have:Demonstrated experience in Drama & Theatre education.Passionate about drama and theatre, with a proven record of inspiring students to achieve excellence.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage both academic and production schedules.A commitment to fostering a creative and inclusive environment that upholds Haileybury’s values and standards.This is an opportunity to join a vibrant school community and lead a program where creativity and academic achievement unite.
