Our mission is to get the most good food, to the most people, in the most efficient way possible.Foodbank SA & NT has 13 Food Hubs and provides food relief to over 150,000 people every month. One third of these are children. We source food from wholesalers, manufacturers, supermarkets and growers, saving more than 2.5 million kilograms of food from landfill each year. In the last 12 months, we have sourced enough food to put more than 10 million meals on the table of those doing it tough in our community.About the RoleFoodbank SA & NT is seeking an enthusiastic candidate for the permanent role of Assistant Regional Manager, supporting the Regional Manager with the daily operations of the Food Hub and Warehouse, including customer service, coordination of volunteers and inventory management.Foodbank Food Hubs are set up to resemble a general store and offer clients a dignified shopping experience. The Warehouse supports the operations of the Food Hub and services agencies, schools and partners in Whyalla and the broader Eyre Peninsula.In this role you will:Provide high level customer service with sensitivity to social and cultural needs.Support the organisation and presentation of the Food Hub.Assist with the induction, training and management of volunteers.Receive, check, sort and store produce.Support stock control and ordering.In the absence of the Regional Manager, coordinate and support the volunteer team and ensure daily administration is completed.About YouAs the successful applicant, you will have strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with excellent time management, and you will enjoy working closely within a diverse and friendly team.A commitment to community service and the not-for-profit sector is essential and previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
