About the role
Join the dynamic team at The Yiros Shop as a Junior Accounts Assistant. This full-time role is based in our head office located in South Brisbane, which is walking distance from public transport
This is an entry level position in a close knit team that would be suitable for someone with a genuine interest in finance, accounting and payroll. You will be provided with ongoing training and mentoring. The ideal candidate would be detail orientated, focused, able to work within set deadlines, have a high degree of accuracy and have good communication skills.
The role will encompass weekly payroll processing, accounts payable document processing, bank reconciliations, end of month journals and various other tasks within the finance and payroll team.
The position would suit someone studying accounting and / or finance or someone one with 6-12 months experience in basic accounts or payroll. For the ideal candidate, we are open to adjusting the role to accommodate your study schedule if needed.
What you'll be doing
* Assist with basic payroll duties
* Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
* Maintain accurate accounting records and databases
* Provide administrative support to the accounting team
* Accounts payable document processing
* Identify process improvements and contribute to the enhancement of accounting systems and procedures

Qualifications
What we're looking for
* Full working rights in Australia (We cannot offer sponsorship)
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (or currently studying)
* 6 to 12 months experience in a similar accounts assistant or junior accounting role
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* Ability to rapidly learn accountancy / payroll software and MS Office applications (Exposure to Xero would be desirable but not essential)
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving

* Working rights - passport and visa grant for international workers
* RSA Certificate to be obtained within 30 days of commencing employment
