The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Consultant to join us in Canberra, Australia. In this role, you will perform on-site delivery and implementation of Red Hat Infrastructure solutions and offerings. You'll gain understanding of our customers' infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment to create possibilities and resolve issues. As a Senior Consultant, you will work closely with customers on various specific initiatives, including architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance of Red Hat Infrastructure technologies. You will also support other consultants, associates, and partners in developing best practices and methods, mainly based on Red Hat Infrastructure products such as RHEL, Ansible, Satellite, Security and authentication services. Responsibilities - Serve as a trusted adviser for Red Hat engineers and project and technical managers to deliver and implement the right solutions for our customers - Serve as a subject matter expert on site, addressing customer technical, development, and IT issues and needs - Learn new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs - Adapt to changing customer requirements - Manage technical problem identification and resolution, support system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions - Participate in internal initiatives, create consulting white papers, and update the knowledge base - Keep stakeholders updated on issues that may affect project or company performance - Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions, and handle sensitive conversations in a professional manner - Kick off new projects, guide the implementation team, and monitor the progress of a project Requirements - 5 years of experience working with enterprise customers on a range of development and deployment projects - Experience with UNIX or Linux database administration and tuning - Extensive knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) - Extensive knowledge of other Infrastructure products including the following technologies - Ansible / Ansible Tower - Satellite - Authentication services such as IdM/IPA - Virtualisation technologies - Extensive knowledge of Linux Security Practices and tools to address common criteria - Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, project management, and planning skills - Practical experience with or knowledge of python, perl and/or shell scripting language(s) - Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification, or willingness to pursue certification within 90 days - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Australian Government security clearance About Red Hat Red Hat (https://www.redhat.com/) is the world's leading provider of enterprise open source (https://www.redhat.com/en/about/open-source) software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
