This role requires someone who has experience and understanding of machining, fitting, and sound knowledge of fabrication and CNC; also organizing the operations of the company's workshop as a whole, solving problems, holding high levels of attention to detail, ensuring quality control, and upholding safety on the workshop floor while meeting customer requirements and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Workshop Coordination & Workflow Management: Organize, schedule, and oversee all jobs to ensure on-time delivery and quality outcomes. Machinist Expertise & CNC Knowledge: Use your machining skills to troubleshoot issues and manage CNC operations, ensuring accuracy and seamless production. Customer Service & Business Promotion: Engage with customers, build lasting relationships, and proactively promote Werner Engineering to attract new business. Problem Solving & Decision Making: Quickly assess issues, provide practical solutions, and ensure smooth job flow on the workshop floor. Team Leadership & Communication: Liaise with supervisors, estimators, and management to align operations with company objectives. Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety standards to safeguard employees and maintain compliance. Stock & Equipment Management: Monitor stock levels, oversee equipment maintenance, and manage purchase orders to support production. Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Provide regular updates to the Director and contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and business processes ensuring quality control. Key Requirements Proven experience as a machinist with CNC machine knowledge. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet. Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to manage workshop operations. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain business relationships. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills. High-level communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across teams. A proactive mindset with the ability to promote business growth and ensure job flow efficiency.
