About the Role
Joblin Partners is recruiting a Commercial Manager for a leading open-cut mining operation in Muswellbrook. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and business improvement, working closely with corporate commercial teams.
Responsibilities include managing site-wide financial processes (budgeting, capital investments, cost control) to align with strategic goals. You’ll collaborate with operations and technical teams to enhance performance through data-driven solutions.
The role also covers contracts, procurement, and warehousing, ensuring resource flow for daily operations. As the main site liaison to corporate and JV partners, you’ll foster transparency and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage a Commercial team of approximately 20 professionals, spanning finance, procurement, and business analysis.
2. Develop and implement the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), capital budgets, and ongoing financial oversight across all site business units.
3. Coordinate procurement, contracts, and warehousing activities, ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
4. Partner closely with the General Manager to support joint venture interactions, maintaining robust stakeholder relationships.
5. Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational and financial performance.
6. Oversee accounts payable and insurance processes, along with internal audits.
About You
1. Demonstrated experience in commercial management, ideally within large mining or resource operations.
2. A relevant degree qualification in finance, business, or a related field.
3. Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
4. Strong strategic budgeting and financial management skills.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively at all levels.
