Based in the Business Intelligence and Planning Unit at the City West campus Full-time, fixed term contract until 31 December 2025 Commencement Salary: $96,696 per annum (plus 17% superannuation) About the Role Reporting to the Manager: Data and Insights, the Data and Insights Analyst provides oversight, specialised guidance and technical expertise in supporting the Unit’s contributions to University-wide corporate performance reporting, data analytics, reviews and improvement initiatives. Some of the major activities the position performs are contributing to the development and deployment of corporate performance reporting resources, business intelligence tools, market and competitor analysis and environmental scanning. This position and the specific work is required to support the merger through identification of relevant data sources, analysis and input into various projects. The position also supports broader Business Intelligence and Planning activities and projects along with the deployment of Business Intelligence-related training resources. BIP contributes to corporate performance through supporting and improving processes and frameworks for management decision making. Its main functions are: Supporting corporate planning and review and the University’s indicator framework The development of corporate information management and reporting through its Business Intelligence environment Building institution‐wide competency in the development, deployment and use of information to support decision making Providing advice, information and support in relation to teaching and learning and research priorities, government reporting and quality assurance Supporting UniSA’s evaluation framework Providing environmental scanning and market analysis Essential Skills and Experience Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education Proven contemporary knowledge and expertise in the use of Business Intelligence tools and techniques to analyse, interpret and present data in a range of formats and forums to address business needs Ability to work directly with relational/non-relational databases to extract, manage and manipulate complex datasets (e.g., SQL and noSQL) High level writing and presentation skills that extend to clear and accurate analytical reports appropriate for a management audience and decision makers and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner using a variety of visual presentation strategies Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, establish priorities and manage complex projects to completion within tight timeframes and/or in alignment with the changing expectations of a project-based environment Benefits Getting a great job working with the best is just the start.
