A great opportunity exists for a Property Officer to join a dynamic team in a values-based NFP. Supporting the Property Manager, the role will ensure the effective maintenance of the Building and Property portfolio of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton.The Property Officer is responsible for:Assisting the Property Manager to ensure appropriate and timely maintenance and security of all assets under direct Diocesan administration, including vacant land and residences;Meeting or arranging known contractors and/or employees in respect of building and grounds, maintenance, cleaning, air conditioning, pest control, security and other services as required;Assisting with logging and documentation of repairs and maintenance in relation to land and buildings;Where required/practical, assisting with coordinating repairs to damaged vehicles and servicing;Performing minor maintenance and manual labour tasks;Ensuring a good level of workmanship from contractors and in own work;Moving furniture and equipment and/or setting up areas for meetings;Adhering to the highest WHS standards at all times;Assisting the Property Manager with general administration duties.The successful candidate will have the following:Previous experience in a maintenance/handyperson role;Intermediate competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite;Information technology literacy;Strong communication and interpersonal skills;Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders;Ability to work effectively in a small team environment;Ability to effectively manage time and work schedules, in a semi-autonomous manner;Ability to travel and be away from home overnight on occasion;Ability to work within and uphold the values and mission of the Catholic Church, such as willingness to serve others, treating others with dignity and respect, and being sensitive to the diverse backgrounds of others;Current motor vehicle driver’s licence.What we offer:Attractive remuneration;Professional development opportunities and study leave;Flexible, supportive work environment;Employee Assistance Program;Values-based organisation.As we are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults at risk, a national criminal history check is required for this role.For further information or a copy of the Position Description, visit www.rok.catholic.net.au or email hr@rok.catholic.net.au.
