Acting as a principal contractor through their self-performing EPC team, they are dedicated to developing, operating, and constructing innovative renewable energy projects across Australia. About the Role As a PV Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the engineering lifecycle of large-scale solar projects, from early conceptual design to construction and commissioning. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will engage in both detailed design and design management, collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the successful delivery of renewable energy assets. This position offers the opportunity to shape cutting-edge solar projects while contributing to Australia’s clean energy transition. Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual and detailed design packages for large-scale solar PV projects. Collaborate with the development team to refine designs during the early project stages. Manage design deliverables from external contractors and consultants. Create and review layouts, single-line diagrams, and other critical design documents using AutoCAD. Conduct energy yield analysis using tools like PVSyst and PVCASE (experience with these is advantageous). Oversee the transition of design packages to construction, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Provide technical support during the commissioning phase to ensure seamless project delivery. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience in designing utility-scale solar PV systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with PVSyst and PVCASE is highly desirable. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as they apply to solar projects. Ability to manage multiple design packages and coordinate with external consultants.
