Permanent / Contract Available Large Government Environment NV1 / NV2 clearance is required We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join a talented, multi-disciplinary technical team, contributing to the design and build of a complex IT infrastructure project for a large government client in Canberra ACT. This role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware across multiple datacenters, while producing detailed documentation to support these activities. The position requires hands-on expertise, strong collaboration within a project environment, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support hardware across multiple dispersed datacenters. Develop detailed design documents and operational artifacts to support the system's delivery and sustainment. Lead initiatives such as capacity planning and enhancements to optimise infrastructure performance. Build capabilities for environment management, including firmware updates. Diagnose and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption. Implement automation tools and processes to streamline infrastructure management and deployment. Ensure the infrastructure aligns with security frameworks and regulatory requirements, such as ISM compliance. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers and developers, to support integrated system operations and project goals. Key Requirements: Proven experience in deploying and managing hardware within datacenter environments. Strong networking fundamentals, including configuration and troubleshooting (Cisco IOS-XE and NXOS). Familiarity with network security technologies (Palo Alto NGFW). Familiarity with SDN technologies such as Cisco ACI. Experience working with VMware Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC). Proficiency in HPE Compute and Storage configuration and management. Knowledge of network storage technologies (iSCSI/Fiber-Channel). Expertise in managing a CMDB to track infrastructure assets. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organisational skills to meet project schedules and deliver successful client outcomes.
