One of QLD's largest state departments is seeking an experienced project advisor to provide critical support for rail and public transport projects. This role is perfect for someone with strong project management skills who can handle high-level project documentation, monitor budgets, and contribute to ongoing improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed project documentation including reports for supervisory boards, committees, and stakeholders.
* Lead or support business unit improvement projects, recommending changes and developing systems for consistency.
* Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resource usage, providing regular reports.
* Support project managers with activities such as industry briefings, risk workshops, and training sessions.
* Review project correspondence and documentation to identify risks for proper registration.
* Promote best practices in project management and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
* Coordinate procurement activities for project resource engagement, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
* Assist in recruitment, resource approvals, tender preparations, and onboarding of team members.
* Support HR functions as needed, including performance reviews and criminal history checks.
* Assist in developing project proposal reports and plans for funding and project management.
* Submit various project reports, including monthly milestones and board presentations.
Requirements:
* Demonstrated experience in project management support, preferably in public transport or rail projects.
* Strong ability to prepare high-level documentation and reports.
* Proven skills in budget and resource management, and knowledge of risk management practices.
* Ability to lead business improvement initiatives and develop streamlined processes.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing procurement activities.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of HR and recruitment processes would be an advantage.
