You'll be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to ensure compliance with regulations, manage risks, and promote a positive safety culture. Your expertise will be essential in providing guidance to stakeholders, conducting investigations, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and wellness practices.Property and Facilities operate in high-risk construction, infrastructure and estate management safety environments and the position will advise and support diverse teams in how to maintain and enhance safety practices as well as discharging duties to convey UQ’s obligations. Your expertise in construction, facilities management, and regulatory compliance will be essential in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.Key qualifications include:Relevant education and experience (e.g., occupational health, safety, science, health, psychology, engineering, or construction management).Proven experience managing health and safety in large, complex organisations and demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the varied infrastructure risks inherent to large, complex facilities, and high-risk construction activities.Demonstrable, substantial experience managing workplace health and safety relevant to the risk profiles of large construction or facilities management areas.Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures related to health, safety, and wellness.Experience with the engagement of a range of regulators (e.g. Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, Electrical Safety Office, Queensland Radiation Safety, Office of Gene Technology Regulator, Queensland Public Health, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (Biosecurity)).Strong leadership and team management experience.Proven track record of driving positive health, safety, and wellness outcomes.Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
