This is a critical position responsible for strategizing, overseeing, and ensuring the successful grid integration of large-scale renewable energy projects. This role involves high-level project management, stakeholder engagement, and technical analysis to navigate the complexities of the Australian energy grid and regulatory landscape.Responsibilities:Manage the end-to-end grid connection process for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage.Project Oversight: Oversee multiple grid connection projects simultaneously, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including network service providers, government officials, regulatory bodies, and executive leadership within the company, to facilitate smooth grid integration.Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies to determine the optimal grid connection solutions for projects.Monitor and manage project timelines, ensuring grid connection milestones are met.Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the design, construction, and commissioning phases.Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry developments related to grid connections and renewable energy.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including network operators, regulators, and industry partners.Risk Management: Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges and issues associated with grid connection.Reporting and Analysis: Provide detailed reports and analyses to executive leadership, outlining the status of grid connection projects, potential risks, and recommended strategies.Budget Management: Oversee the budget for grid connection projects, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that projects are delivered within budget.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in grid connection management, preferably within the renewable energy sector.Experience working for an Australian NSP, highly desirable.Extensive knowledge of the Australian energy market, grid connection processes, and regulatory landscape including both Chapter 5 and Chapter 5A connections.Proven experience in managing grid connection processes for large-scale renewable energy projects.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.Proficiency in using grid connection software and tools (PSSE, PSCAD, etc), desirable.When you join EDP Renewables APAC, you will have access to:Professional experience in a leading global company in the renewables industry with flexible work conditions.Recognition through remuneration compatible with the role and other additional benefits.Opportunities for personal and professional development, e.g. cross-cutting projects, mobilities and volunteering.About EDP Group:As a socially responsible company, we incorporate our values and practices with the principles of Diversity and Inclusion.
