Department of HealthHospitals & Primary CareApplications must be submitted by Sunday 20 April, :55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Band 4 Employment type: Full Time Region: South Location: Exciting opportunity for an Executive Support Officer to join the Department of Health!The Team:Hospitals and Primary Care (HPC) is one of two clinical service delivery branches within the Department of Health - the other being Community, Mental Health, and Wellbeing (CMHW) which also includes Ambulance Tasmania and other Statewide Services such as Public Health and Pharmacy.HPC includes all four main acute hospitals of the Tasmanian Health System (THS), and the State community centres and district hospitals. HPC manages the system operations via the Office of the Deputy Secretary HPC for performance, improvement, patient flow, safety and quality, and people and culture. HPC also manages the Statewide Hospital Information Management Systems functions (HIMS).The Role:Provide high-level executive and administrative support to the Office of the Deputy Secretary, coordinating and monitoring action items and reporting requirements to ensure deadlines are met.Undertake a broad variety of tasks including coordinating and preparing highly confidential and complex documentation, undertaking research for briefings and background notes, minute taking, preparation of correspondence, organising and scheduling meetings and travel, and participating in project work as required.Develop and maintain systems and protocols to ensure efficient information management and flow of information to and from the Office of the Deputy Secretary.You will need:Proven high-level experience in, and understanding of, contemporary executive and administrative support services within a senior management environment, including the ability to prepare and coordinate briefing materials and manage the flow of information.Well-developed organisational, investigative and research skills, together with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage a diverse and often competing workload to achieve desired outcomes within an environment subject to continuous change.High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effective outcomes with a wide range of stakeholders as part of a senior management team with diplomacy and in a sensitive and confidential manner.Details of appointment:Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum.
