Medics (Medical Technicians [MEDTECH]) work remotely or as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team to provide medical support to a range of domestic, regional and global operations.
As a medic, you'll work in health centres on our Air Force bases, mobile treatment facilities when deployed, ADF aircraft when evacuating casualties or occasionally within civilian hospitals. You'll work alongside other registered health practitioners with varying levels of supervision, to ensure that ADF personnel and civilians have an appropriate level of health care when needed.
Medics contribute to the following Air and Space Power in the following ways:
1. contribute to aeromedical evacuation, both intra-theatre and inter-theatre aeromedical evacuation.
2. contribute to permanent airbase health operations, expeditionary airbase establishment and operations, and non-air-base health support.
3. contribute to joint personnel recovery, ADF training, capability management and capability development.
As a medic, you will play a part in promoting health and well-being, treating injury and illness and performing on-going care and support to patients during recovery.
