You will report to the Coordinator of Strategic Planning and play a lead role in the City Strategy Team providing expertise and supporting research in the area of urban design, to inform the preparation of precinct structure plans, strategy plans, development plans, Council’s own projects and major planning permit applications with a strong regard for good urban design principles.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate the review, monitoring and development of design guidelines, policies, strategies and plans.Provide urban design expertise in developing urban design guidelines and policies for council, assessing planning applications and Council project proposals, project management, stakeholder and community engagement and consultation.Undertake community consultation activities to ensure the community has awareness of, and opportunities to input in the preparation of urban design projects.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have the following:Tertiary qualification in Urban Design/Architecture or a related discipline with extensive practice experience in Urban Design or lesser formal qualifications with extensive practice experience.Experience in delivering a broad range of urban design projects, including subdivision design.Demonstrated experience of working with a range of stakeholders to achieve improved design outcomes while maintaining effective working relationships.Culture and ValuesOur vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
