As the Payroll Supervisor you'll oversee a team of three, managing payroll for over 2,200 staff across both field (2,000) and head office (200) teams. You will focus on enhancing payroll processes and maximizing the application of a new payroll system (Definitiv) set for implementation between December and March. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in guiding the team, optimizing workflows, and delivering detailed, actionable reporting.
What You'll Do:
* Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for 2,200 employees, including hands-on processing for Head Office and Board payrolls.
* Lead, support, and develop a team of three, with direct supervision of payroll for field staff.
* Drive process improvement initiatives and optimize the new Definitiv payroll system for enhanced functionality and reporting.
* Ensure compliance and accuracy in all payroll operations and timely payments across fortnightly (Operations/Head Office) and monthly (Board) payroll cycles.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine payroll procedures and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Who You Are:
You're an experienced, hands-on Payroll professional with a strong background in payroll supervision, ideally within the building/construction industry. You bring a depth of knowledge in managing large payrolls and leading teams, with a proactive approach to process improvement. Experience with the Definitiv system and familiarity with large company standards is a plus.
