The person in this role will display excellence in news gathering, by shooting, editing, and live field broadcasting – crafting visuals to assist narrative, meeting tight deadlines and adapting quickly to breaking news.
You will also know or learn news studio operations – supporting technical crew, journalists, and anchors to cover each day's big stories.
You will have an interest in news and current affairs, current driver licence, and be a team player, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems creatively.What you'll be doing:Display excellence in news gathering by shooting, editing and live field broadcasting.Crafting visuals to assist narrative, meeting tight deadlines and adapting quickly to breaking news.Support technical crew, journalists, and anchors to cover each day's big stories.Basic studio operations, including camera, vision mixing and audio.Experience we're looking for: Demonstrable experience with electronic news gathering, including video and audio capture, and non-linear editing (SCA currently uses Quantel and Avid systems).Energy and enthusiasm to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced and creative environment.Strong communication and collaboration skills, paired with an attention to detail.Proficient ability to multi-task and multi-skill across TV operations.Ability to work calmly under pressure to very precise deadlines.An interest in local affairs, documentary filmmaking and creative storytelling.
