What you'll be doing
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Data & Commercial Analyst to sit in our Auckland office. As a Data & Commercial Analyst, you'll serve as a pivotal link between raw data and actionable insights, driving decision-making across various departments and commercial initiatives. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our Power BI Data Warehouse and generating valuable insights for commercial strategies. By bridging business needs with data capabilities, you'll facilitate data-driven decision-making and contribute to strategic projects throughout the organization. You will report directly to the Head of Data & Insights and regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following activities:
1. Collect, organize, and analyse data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations relevant to project objectives and supporting commercial goals/initiatives
2. Gather and document business and commercial requirements, prepare monthly reports, summaries, and data visualizations highlighting key commercial insights and performance metrics
3. Collaborate with multiple teams and leadership, effectively communicating analysis results
4. Manage and maintain the organization's databases, including data dictionaries
5. Promote a data-first mindset, driving the adoption of DIY data practices within the organization through the developing of Power BI skills across the business
Qualifications & Skills
This role will suit someone with an investigative mindset who can identify trends and uphold data governance standards (especially in commercial data analysis). You’ll need to be able to successfully communicate and explain complex and commercial concepts and analyses.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
6. 5 years of experience in a commercially focused BI analyst role, with expertise in analysing data and driving commercial insights
7. Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and MS Excel is essential (SQL knowledge is desired)
8. Extensive experience delivering insights through visualizations tailored for commercial audiences
9. Familiarity with Agile or related methodologies preferred for agile commercial decision-making processes
