Your contribution:
• Provide high level expertise and advice to project stakeholders with respect to the operational, planning, and strategic drivers that underpin effective management of the protected area estate.
• Develop and maintain highly collaborative relationships with First Nations people,Traditional Owners, and other key stakeholders to underpin the success of projects.
• Lead the development of a Transition Framework that sets out the operational, organisational, and strategic planning capacities required to realise the transition of greater national park management responsibilities to First Nation partners.
• Manage and implement strategic initiatives which use both established and new policy approaches and methodologies; to do this you will work in partnership with other QPWS project teams, and they will also assist to accelerate the delivery of the Transition Framework.
• Manage and lead projects and teams, including the supporting budget, to ensure successful and timely delivery of outcomes in support of Agency strategic direction.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on progress of projects to key stakeholders.

About you
• Extensive experience in developing strategy and policy that address complex and sensitive issues, preferably related to land management and collaboration with First Nations peoples.
• A contemporary knowledge of the operational requirements, legislative and policy landscape that underpins the management of the Queensland protected area estate (or similar).
• A demonstrated record of working collaboratively across a large organisation taking a leadership role in developing positive and productive relationships.
• Strong experience in project management methodologies, principles and practices, including an ability to effectively manage resources to deliver project outcomes.
• A proven track record land or sea management practices which enable effective collaboration, communication, and negotiation with diverse stakeholders, particularly First Nations people.
