Emergency Medicine Physician/Consultant

The Position:
In this role, applicants should have strong interpersonal and communication skills to assist with problem solving, resolving conflicts and negotiation.
Responsibilities and duties include:
• Working across 7 days, 38 hours (4 shifts per week)
• Physicians/Consultants work in the department between Morning to Midnight, with Senior Registrars/medical practitioners working overnight with Consultants available on call
• Experience a wide variety of cases from neonates to geriatric, inclusive of trauma, resuscitation and toxicology
The Facility:
The hospital stands as the primary regional healthcare facility in the area, boasting 200+ beds and serving as a specialised referral centre for northern Victoria. It caters to a population of around 90,000 and manages nearly 19,000 inpatient cases and 23,000 visits to the Emergency Department annually. The facility delivers an extensive array of acute specialist medical and surgical services, encompassing an emergency department, a critical care unit, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and specialised aged care. Additionally, they provide community rehabilitation, inpatient care, community services, aged care, and psycho-geriatric mental health services.

Requirements:
• Fellowship (FACEM) or eligible for fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM)
• IMG’s eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
• IMG’s assessed by ACEM College as Substantially comparable (doctors currently interviewing with ACEM may express their interest)
• Doctors that will be awarded the fellowship (FACEM) in the next 6 months are encouraged to apply
