Exciting Role - Casual, Full-time, The Prince Charles Hospital | Transport Officers (Truck Drivers) transport and handle supplies across Queensland Health facilities, reporting to the Transport Supervisor(s).The roleTransport Officers (Truck Drivers) play a vital role in the safe and efficient delivery of linen, clinical and non-clinical supplies to Queensland Health facilities. This includes loading and unloading vehicles using roll cages, trolleys, and pallets while adhering to workplace health and safety policies. The role involves operating heavy vehicles in compliance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), maintaining accurate driving records, conducting pre-operational vehicle checks, and ensuring cleanliness of vehicles and equipment. Transport Officers also respond to operational needs, including third-party freight processing, courier deliveries, and stock movement using forklifts (if licensed). Reporting vehicle defects, incidents, and near misses is essential to maintaining safety and service quality.Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, the ability to adapt to changing work environments, and a commitment to workplace safety and customer service. A current Medium Rigid, Heavy Rigid, or Multi-Combination licence is mandatory, while a forklift or high-risk work licence is highly regarded. Physical capability for manual handling tasks is required. Compliance with vaccination requirements and participation in mandatory training sessions is essential.
