As part of our Business Development group, the Enterprise Architect will be responsible for envisioning, communicating and evolving the organisation’s enterprise architecture. The enterprise architecture addresses key enterprise aspects – including organisational structure, business processes and strategies, value streams, data and information and supporting technologies – and how they fit together and are expected to evolve over time.
The Enterprise Architect will review and improve on existing systems, making use of new technologies and methodologies to seek continual improvement. In addition, they will also provide high level guidance and direction on project work, making sure that new projects fit in with Saab’s overall strategic vision.
Leading Saab’s architectural function, the Enterprise Architect will provide support and direction to other members of the function assisting in the coordination of architecture tasks and activities, and when required represent the function at meetings/forums, as required.
Further, the successful candidate will:
1. Balance business needs and vision with the implications of how technology is used now, or in the future;
2. Elicit and develop requirements from stakeholders;
3. Leveraging EA frameworks including TOGAF, Zachman and DODAF to apply a multi-view approach;
4. Work closely with IT Solution Architects and Project Delivery teams to achieve the architectural vision;
5. Use real-world examples rather than detailed “in-principal” documents to convey the vision;
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
6. Demonstrated experience in the application of Human Centred Design and Design Thinking Principles;
7. Broad knowledge of ITIL Frameworks, guiding principles and practices
8. Demonstrated experience in leading senior technical teams
9. Extensive experience in a senior architectural role, exposed to a diverse range of systems and technologies;
10. Demonstrated experience with the design and implementation of enterprise-wide integrated solutions, applications, and tools;
11. Demonstrated experience and expertise in a wide range of technology domains at a senior level;
12. Demonstrated experience in strong business case development;
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
