About the roleAs a Finished Artist/Pre Press at Echo Cartons, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless production of high-quality printed materials. This full-time position is based in our Braeside, Victoria office and offers an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in graphic design and pre-press processes.
What you'll be doing Preparing digital artwork files for printing, including layout, image manipulation, colour separation and trapping, and file formatting for both digital and flexographic printing processes.Reviewing client-prepared artwork to ensure it is in the correct format and ready to download direct to digital printers.Performing quality control checks on printed materials to maintain consistent branding and high standards.Facilitating the proofing processes and obtaining approvals of final artwork.Ensuring work orders contain accurate specifications and instructions.Developing new skills with CAD software to design packaging and make samples.What we're looking for Proven experience as a Finished Artist or Pre Press Operator, ideally within the packaging or print industry.Graduate Graphic designers welcome to apply.Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Excellent understanding of pre-press techniques, including colour management, file preparation, and print-ready file formats.Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality, with the ability to spot and resolve issues quickly.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with designers, printers, and other stakeholders.A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.Prepared to learn CAD Software.What we offerAt Echo Cartons, we are committed to supporting the professional and personal growth of our employees.
