Youth justice custodial centres accommodate young people aged 10-18 years who have been remanded or sentenced by the Criminal Division of the Children's Court, and some 18-21 year old sentenced by adult courts to a youth justice custodial centre.The opportunityFixed-Term, full-time position based at Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct Melbourne.VPS 3 role: $76,817 - $93,275 per year plus super.Operate as part of team to provide high level services aimed at maintaining buildings and grounds at the Precinct by organising, delivering and sustaining various periodic and general building and grounds maintenance works.Provide services such as carpentry repairs, glazing and manufacturing a range of fittings, mowing, pruning, spraying, mulching, watering, green waste removal and propagation.Safely operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as ride-on mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, forklifts and elevated work platforms (EWP).Regular travel to other Youth Justice Precincts or locations may be required.To be successful in this role you will have experience in building and/or grounds maintenance with the ability to perform varied building maintenance repairs, horticulture periodic, general and reactive maintenance tasks.
