This is an exciting new role to support the City’s strategic direction for public art programming, initially as a fixed term 12-month contract.
The successful applicant will coordinate the operation of the City’s Public Art Collection, while developing and implementing new public art projects utilising the City’s strategy and policy framework. You will be required to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships, facilitate engagement opportunities within the City’s Public Art Collection, and have a strategic approach to build and grow the program’s future.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in public art and have knowledge of Western Australia’s Visual Arts sector. Your covering letter should address your experience towards:
• Tertiary qualifications or progression towards completion of formal studies in Fine Arts, Arts Administration, and/or or equivalent relevant experience.
• Managing and delivering public art commissions and programs.
• Liaising with and negotiating with artists and other stakeholders.
• Coordinating community consultation and demonstrating awareness of best practice protocols for diverse cultural engagement.
• Engaging audiences in public arts programs.
• Developing strategic partnerships and initiatives to expand public art.
