KEMH is Western Australia's (WA) largest maternity hospital and the only referral centre for complex, high acuity pregnancies in WA. Its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and KEMH is the home of the State's Maternal Fetal Medicine Department. The KEMH Haematology Department provides an on-site specialist transfusion service together with routine general haematology and coagulation.
